Memory Weather

The weather here is driving me absolutely crazy. It's warm, but overcast. For some reason, that reminds me very strongly of early summer while I was in undergrad - lazy days with not much to do and plenty of time to do it in. This is senseless, because I know the weather was frequently like this in Vancouver when I was studying for exams in school, yet somehow all it evokes is wandering around pocket parks in Vancouver or heading down to Jericho or Kits for a bit of early sailing. It even smells lik Vancouver. It's really bizarre, and disorienting, and NOT good for me getting any work done. Sigh. Why is it that Oxford being beautiful just makes me miss Vancouver more?

Weirdly enough, I am also missing Vancouver at the moment. Being here makes me think of it - particularly being down at the water today reminded me very strongly of the day we hung out with Greg and Mikey in Stanley Park.

Hope all of the non-weather related stuff is good. Now that exams are over, I am uber-excited about South Africa and want to get started planning stuff!

That was a good day. I desperately miss coasts of all types. Cape Town has coasts, I believe. This excites me.

And yes, it takes me this long to notice comments. I'm negligent.

Thing is, here in actual Vancouver, it is the second week of June and the weather (daily high of 11 degrees; solid overcast with occastional rain) is "memory weather" for winter - I am so confused.
